About the firm

About Us.

George Bartini.

Anyone can see why his customers looked forward to George's arrival. With a quick laugh and infectious smile, George enjoyed his route and his customers for 53 years.

With Claire, his wife of 54 years, he raised his sons, Peter & Michael, and daughter, Susan at High Lawn. "The Colonel helped instill a strong work ethic in my kids. He paid them .25 an hour to pick rocks out of the field. That work ethic serves them well today."

George also remembers the Colonel saying, "This is not a show place, George. It's a working farm." And work George did, starting each day at 4:30 AM and continuing 'til his route was done, sometime in the late morning. Finally, in 1996, at Mrs. Wilde's urging and over the Colonel's objections, George retired from driving and assisted the Wilde's with whatever they needed done around the farm.

George has always been proud of High Lawn, the milk it produces and the relationships he and the farm had built up over the years. "The milk simply tastes better than anyone else's. And it's better for you. I guess that's what it all comes down to."
