Jim Braim

Another indispensable part of the High Lawn landscape is Jim Braim. After finishing at the University of New Hampshire where he majored in agriculture, Jim started at High Lawn. That was 1962.

He is another who has done everything there is to do at the farm - drive a route, tend the herd, till the fields, run the dairy. And he made sure his three children - Jeff, Julie, and Jimmy - shared in the High Lawn experience. He also enjoyed watching other children from town work during summers on the farm. He knows what a valuable experience that has been for each of them.

Jim is quick to acknowledge and appreciate High Lawn's connection to the community. "The town has been very good to us. All the boards, the DPW, town officials, even the state, have been good to us. They realize how important it is that we survive, how important it is to the town's people that this land remain open. They seem to understand that everyone has a vested interest in the farm experience remaining within reach of everyone. Having High Lawn Farm here just makes this (community) a better place to live."
