RETAIL TEAM LEAD

April 2026

We’re seeking experienced and motivated individuals to step into a Retail Team Lead role within our farm store retail team. This position is ideal for someone who excels in customer service and is ready to take on leadership responsibilities in a fast-paced, food-focused retail environment.

Team Leads play a key role in daily operations, staff support, and ensuring a consistently high-quality customer experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Lead shifts and serve as a point person during daily operations.

  • Support opening and closing procedures, including cash handling and reconciliation.

  • Train and mentor Junior Associates and Retail Associates.

  • Ensure adherence to food safety standards and SOPs.

  • Oversee product quality, merchandising, and store presentation.

  • Assist with customer service escalations and problem-solving.

  • Coordinate workflow during busy periods (ice cream service, food prep, register flow).

  • Support inventory tasks, including restocking, ordering assistance, and shrink awareness.

  • Assist with special orders and events.

  • Other tasks as assigned by management discretion.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous retail, food service, or hospitality experience required

  • Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience preferred

  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining a positive team environment

  • Reliable, punctual, and professional

  • Ability to lift at least 35 lbs

BENEFITS AND COMPENSATION:

Hourly wage based on experience, starting at $16.50/hr + tips.

FARM STORE RETAIL ASSOCIATE

April 2026

We’re seeking motivated individuals to join our farm store retail team for Sping/Summer 2026. At our farm store — located right here on our idyllic farm just feet away from where our cows get milked— we sell our own artisanal dairy products and a selection of locally-produced goods.

The right candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment, listen and communicate effectively with customers and other staff members, take direction, problem solve, keep a clean workspace, and follow daily, weekly, and monthly standard operating procedures. 

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Register transactions and cash handling.

  • Working knowledge & adherence to food safety practices

  • Greet and interact with customers with a welcoming and friendly attitude.

  • Scooping and serving ice cream while providing excellent customer service.

  • Assisting with and making grilled cheese orders, charcuterie boards, and/or special events orders.

  • Cutting and wrapping cheeses.

  • Marketing daily samples.

  • Restocking, facing & fronting items.

  • Assisting with miscellaneous retail store duties, projects, and assignments upon occurrence.

REQUIREMENTS:

Applicants must be able to lift at least 35 lbs, work in a team environment, and exhibit a positive, professional attitude. Reliability and timeliness is critical. Experience in retail or customer service is preferred. Knowledge of specialty cheeses and the ability to scoop and serve ice cream is a plus!

BENEFITS AND COMPENSATION:

Hourly wage is based on experience, starting at $15.00/hr. Plus, tips! 

We have both part-time and full-time shifts available. The Farmstead Creamery shop is currently open 7 days a week from 10:00 am - 6:00 pm (with extended hours in the summer). Shifts include opening/ closing the store during days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

JUNIOR RETAIL ASSOCIATE

April 2026

We’re seeking motivated individuals to join our farm store retail team for Spring/Summer 2026 as a Junior Retail Associate. This role is designed as a support position focused on maintaining a clean, organized, and well-stocked store environment.

This is a great opportunity for young individuals seeking their first job and looking to gain experience in a team-oriented, customer-facing retail setting. Minimum hiring age is 14. This entry-level position paves the way for the right candidate to graduate to our Retail Associate Position with a demonstration of growth. 

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Clearing outdoor tables to maintain a welcoming customer space.

  • Changing various trash bins on the property.

  • Cleaning glass surfaces, counters, and general store areas.

  • Dusting shelves, displays, and retail areas.

  • Restocking supplies (napkins, utensils, bags, etc.)

  • Restocking and facing retail shelves as needed.

  • Breaking down cardboard and assisting with back-of-house organization.

  • Supporting overall cleanliness and presentation of the store.

  • Assisting team members with miscellaneous tasks as needed.

BENEFITS AND COMPENSATION: 

Hourly wage is $15.00/hr. This position is eligible for paid training, employee discounts, and a weekly milk stipend.

SPECIALTY FOODS SANITATION ASSISTANT

April 2026

We’re hiring a part-time Specialty Foods Sanitation Assistant to support our production team with cleaning, dishwashing, and sanitation for our award-winning ice cream, specialty butters, and artisanal cheeses. This role helps keep our production spaces, equipment, and tools clean, safe, and ready for daily use.

The best candidate for this position is someone who is motivated, reliable, adaptable, and pays attention to details.

 Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting in ice cream, butter, and cheese production

  • Cheese aging (affinage) and packaging

  • Fulfilling specialty food orders for delivery and pick-up

  • Maintaining inventory and production records

  • Following protocols to keep facilities/ equipment clean and sanitized

REQUIREMENTS:

Applicants are required to have a valid driver's license and the ability to lift at least 50 lbs. Prior experience in sanitation, food service, and/or food production is encouraged. Shifts are scheduled Monday-Friday from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm. Punctuality for this role is critical.

Delivery Truck Driver

April 2025

We are hiring a full-time, year-round (non-CDL) Delivery Truck Driver to join our team in distributing our collection of farm-fresh, 100% Jersey dairy products to stores, restaurants, institutions, and coffee shops from the Berkshires to Boston. 

The best candidate for this position will be someone who is motivated, responsible, and has a positive attitude. Prior commercial motor vehicle (CMV) driving experience and FMCSA knowledge are preferred, but willing to train the right candidate. It is essential that candidates are able to safely and confidently drive a 20 ft. box truck in dense city traffic and exhibit good public relations skills, as this position represents the face of our company and works directly with our customers on a daily basis.

SCHEDULE:

This position requires the employee to be adaptable to covering each type of route our distribution team serves. The Eastern MA routes include a 4-day work week with an early morning start between 1:00-2:00 am. The Eastern MA routes require overnight stays at a hotel in the Boston metro area, paid for by the company, two nights a week.

REQUIREMENTS:

Applicants must be at least 21 years of age and required to have a valid driver's license, a good driving record, and the ability to lift at least 50 lbs repeatedly. Applicants must have the ability to cover overnight runs. Candidates must also be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check, and maintain an active DOT physical. Must also be familiar with using electronic navigation tools such as GPS, Google Maps, and various smartphone navigation apps.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

Compensation includes base salary, plus commission. Salary is commensurate with experience and willingness to learn. Base annual salary ranges from $44,000 to $48,000. Benefits include: a matching 401(k) retirement plan, health insurance, Aflac, paid time off, employee discounts, and weekly milk stipends.

LOADING DOCK ASSISTANT

April 2026

We are hiring a part-time Loading Dock Assistant to join our team. The primary focus of this position is to load and unload trucks and assist with packing and fulfilling orders for our wholesale customers. This position will be responsible for unloading delivery trucks as they return from their routes, and reload them with products for the following day's delivery. 

The best candidate for this position is reliable, efficient, and flexible. This role requires close attention to detail, observation, and foresight, as well as good communication and openness to feedback. This role is a combination of independent work and teamwork, with the need for strong communication and accuracy in task completion. 

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Receiving and directing deliveries to the correct location on the loading dock.

  • Inspecting and unloading empty crates and material from returning vehicles.

  • Loading product onto vehicles before they depart for deliveries and communicating with departments on missing or short product.

  • Tracking and reporting the weights and movement of product.

  • Maintaining and organizing the loading dock and walk-in cooler area.

  • Assist with the production and packaging of butter and ice cream, with occasional support to the dairy bottling line.

Requirements & Schedule:

  • Availability to work Monday-Thursday 8:00 am-5:00 pm; and Friday & Saturday 7:00 am - 12:00 pm.

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly.

  • Reliable and punctual attendance is paramount.

  • Willingness and ability to work with team members speaking in different languages, and using communication tools where appropriate to help with language barriers.

  • Proficiency with using Google Workspace.

  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

  • Positive attitude.

  • High attention to detail.

  • Self-starter: Able to prioritize tasks using best judgment with a solid understanding of the need to stay busy between a dynamic set of responsibilities (i.e, you are actively seeking ways to contribute to overall daily operations at the farm), ask questions, and work independently.

Dairy Plant Assistant

We are hiring a Dairy Plant Assistant to join our team in producing high-quality dairy products. They will be a part of the pasteurization team, packaging milk, butter, and ice cream. 

The best candidate for this position will be someone who works efficiently, both independently and as part of a team. For this position, it is essential that the candidate is detail-oriented, has a positive attitude, and is receptive to instructions.
